Arches National Park Today

The Feline Alarm went off at 4am & again at 5am’ish so I was up & feeding these two so George could try to continue sleeping.  Oh how I wish their little time clocks could be synched to ours!  Good luck with that!!

So this morning I had my leftover pizza for breakfast since we had a good 4-5hrs planned at Arches National Park that would spill into the lunchtime hour.  Then we saw the following pic on the park’s service website.  Yikes!  After reading more on the park’s website, they recommended after 3pm is better as the traffic thins out.  Done deal!

What A Wait!

What A Wait!

Deciding to wait it out actually allowed me plenty of time to run over to the park’s laundromat & get all of our laundry done so I was thankful for that.

Then we headed over to try the BluPig BBQ which gets very high ratings here.   I must say, being a former Native Texan, it certainly met my (and George’s) approval.  He had a sampler of brisket & wings which he said was very good & I thought my sliced brisket sandwich was just awesome.  Itis so very hard to find real BBQ anywhere in the Southwest.  We will certainly keep the BluPig in mind for the future.

Onward to Arches National Park.  The line was way more tolerable at 2pm’ish than what we saw this morning.

It was still full of people but we were easily able to take the entire driving tour, getting out at numerous overlooks, etc. with no issue.  We didn’t make any of the hikes as we are always limited on time having pets at home.  No biggie .. I had been feeling a little weird the last 24hrs or so and although I have never had any “allergies” my whole life – something was aggravating my head.  Sneezing, slight cough but no fever yet.

So we headed back home, got settled in, I had one glass of wine, an orange & laid down to try to watch The Voice.  It was an aggravating night as well with the sinus issue, stuffy ears & sneezing.  Sure hope this is not a cold!  I don’t have time to be sick.  Heck tomorrow is our last day here & although we had plans for Canyonland National Park it will be a wait & see at this point :/

Here are the pics from our visit to Arches.
