Coos Bay to Bandon

Today was pretty enough we decided to hit the road & find the Charleston – Bandon Scenic Byway route.  This let us see several spots along the coastline that were great for pictures & wandering the coast itself.

Gorse Fields Everywhere

Although it was breezy & a bit chilly it was a fantastic drive.  Once you leave the 101, you pick up Seven Devils Road.   We also identified & learned a bit more about Gorse today.  All of the stunning little yellow flowers – everywhere – are a plant that was imported from Ireland by the original founders of the town of Bandon.  It has taken over everything in it’s path, but what dramatic pix it makes for 🙂   We stopped in several locations to just get out & wander the beach.

Once we arrived in Bandon, we fooled ourselves by assuming that anything named Bandon Bill’s Seafood Restaurant would have seafood!  LOL   Actually, they do – just not at lunchtime  :/  But they did have some fantastic pizza that we chowed down on instead.  Live & learn.

Back on the road we made a few more stops before the predicted rain started moving into the area.  This sure is a beautiful area.
