Pacific Coast Highway & Bodega Bay

We headed out this morning with two things in mind:  Cruising the Pacific Coast Highway & fresh fish for lunch.

We took the winding SR-116 over to Jenner, CA.   It follows along the Russian River where the mouth of the river meats the bay.  Beautiful drive.

Once we arrived at the PCH, we turned north for about 12mi & I’m sure we achieved stopping at every turnout because the views were just breaktaking.

By the time we found our lunch stop – The Boat House – in Bodega Bay is was 3pm!  We stopped a lot.  LOL  We had read that the Boat House had the best fish & chips on the bay & I wholeheartedly agree.  George had the BBQ’s oysters & helped finish my basket too because there was so much food.

Bellies full, we headed back north up the PCH to find the Coleman Valley Road which we knew would lead us back to the Bohemian Highway.  This is such a beautiful part of California I can’t wait to return & spend a lot more time here exploring.  So many things to see that you just can’t do it all.  But I bet we can find volunteer opportunities here .. wherever we would like to be 🙂

Some of the better shots we got along the way.

We love the Pacific coast. We’re thinking when we head south that’s where we’re heading. We’re also thinking we might just hang around there this winter. Who knows ‘cuz it’s just a long ways off.
